The web is being read by machines as much as humans now. AI search, generative answers, and large language models are becoming primary discovery layers. Most brands treat this as a content problem and chase it with keywords, schema patches, and GEO tactics.
The signal these systems actually reward is structural. Semantic HTML, entity clarity, accessible patterns, well-formed schema — the same architectural decisions that make a site usable for screen readers make it interpretable for AI. One discipline, two audiences.
I've spent a decade in that discipline. The same rigor that drove a 150% accessibility score improvement at Prevagen now drives how I think about brand visibility in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Google AI Overviews.
